Coming from the UK

carby car

The M11 / A11 main roads are very close, as is the A14.  The postcode for satellite navigation is CB10 2HN or you may find the AA routeplanner useful http://www.theaa.com/route-planner/index.jsp

FROM THE SOUTH – M11

Coming from the south on the M11, leave the M11 at Junction 9 and merge onto the A11.  At the Fourwentways take the slip road and at the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A1307.  After Linton turn right towards Bartlow, once in Bartlow turn right towards Ashdon.  Once in Ashdon you will pass the Post Office and Rose & Crown pub on your right, Rectory Lane is just after this on the right.

FROM THE NORTH – M11

Coming from the north on the M11, leave the M11 at junction 10, then at roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A505.  Continue on the A505 until you merge onto the A11.

 FROM THE EAST – A14

Coming from the east on the A14, merge onto the A11.  At the Fourwentways take the slip road and at the roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A1307.  After Linton turn right towards Bartlow, once in Bartlow turn right towards Ashdon.  Once in Ashdon you will pass the Post Office and Rose & Crown pub on your right, Rectory Lane is just after this on the right.

trainby train

The main line between  Cambridge and London Liverpool Street runs close by – the local train station is called Audley End.  Take a taxi from the station (there are phone numbers available at the station and there are often taxis waiting outside).  Buses to Ashdon do run (request the stop at ‘The Rose & Crown’), although they are infrequent.  Nevertheless if you can catch the bus, the walk from the bus stop to the house is a convenient 5 minutes up the hill along Home Boys Lane (Rectory Lane).

coachby bus/coach

You can get to Cambridge by coach from most parts of the country.  Some operators also run coaches to Saffron Walden our nearest town.

Coming from abroad

ferryby ferry

Come to Marpa House either by ferry to Harwich – The A14 road link to the Harwich ferry connects England with The Netherlands.  There is also a rail terminal at Harwich Port which will get you to Cambridge and then to Audley End train station.  If arriving at Folkestone, take a train to London, and then out of Liverpool Street to Audley End, our nearest train station.

planeby air

Our closest international airport is London Stansted, 30 minutes drive from Marpa House.  If arriving at Stansted it is also possible to take a train to Audley End, and then either take a taxi or a bus, although buses to Ashdon are infrequent.

You can also fly into London Heathrow, London Gatwick, or Luton.  Ask at the enquiries desk for ways to get to Marpa House.
