New Year’s Day Thursday 1 January We will be celebrating the start of 2015 with the Mikyo Dorje Guru Yoga. This is a very important supplication puja for the Kagyu lineage. Meditation Practice Day
Sunday 4 January 10.30am and 2.30pm
Free of charge (lunch is available at £5 but needs to be booked at least 24 hours in advance)
A day of several sessions of silent meditation. The structure of the day is very relaxed and informal. Ideal for beginners as well as for those who have been meditating for longer. It is a wonderful opportunity for the Sangha to practise together, share ideas and simply to spend a day in the tranquillity of Marpa House.
This Sunday will be led once again by Donald Reilly, a long term student of Chime Rinpoche. If you plan to come, please contact the Secretary on: 01799 584415 or via mail@marpahouse.org.uk.
Tibetan Language Day

Sunday 18 January – 10.30am and 2pm
Fee for the day: £10 (including lunch)
Anyone with some knowledge of Tibetan (who can read Tibetan and use a dictionary) is welcome to join in a day of reading and translating. Texts will be provided.

Tickets are only £20. There will be a finger buffet included in the price. A bar will be available for drinks throughout the evening. Please book by the 5th January so we know if there is enough interest to run this event. Please contact the Secretary, Barbara, on mail@marpahouse.org.uk or call 01799 58441 for tickets. We even have e-tickets all ready to send to you.
STAFFING OPPORTUNITIES
We are happily running the house with a full team of staff but will need a new cook and gardener for the beginning of March. Marpa House operates with semi-permanent volunteers who keep the house open to visitors, retreatants and those attending large and small courses taking place during the year. As a long-term volunteer, you live at the house and receive a small honorarium. All meals and accommodation are provided free of charge, and you have the opportunity to work, practise and study at Marpa House. To find out more, please contact the Secretary via mail@marpahouse.org.uk.
COMMITTEE OPPORTUNITIES
The Marpa House Management Committee welcome Janet Scott. We are delighted that Janet has decided to join us and look forward to working with her over the coming years. For the first time in some years the Committee is now up to full strength, having six members plus the Secretary.

GET INVOLVED
Poets Out There Please donate your inspired/inspirational poems for a good cause. As a fundraising project for Marpa House, we’re hoping to publish a 40-page pamphlet to sell for £6 each. Whether we accomplish this will depend on a number of factors, but we hope to produce the booklet in 2015, so our deadline for your submissions is Losar 2015 – that is, 21st February 2015. Please let us know whether you mind only part of your poem appearing in the booklet. Send your work to Amy at amyco@btinternet.com under the Subject: The Spacious Voice.
