Events
Marpa House is committed to organising teachings and courses covering important aspects of the Karma Kagyu tradition. These course and teachings are given by Lama Chime Rinpoche, by other eminent Lamas and Rinpoches, and by students of Lama Chime Rinpoche. They extend from simple one-day events to teachings that extend for several days.
Throughout the year there are other events such as the annual summer tea party, meetings of the member students to help with planning and reviewing activities, celebrations of various Tibetan landmarks (e.g. Tibetan new Year), and volunteer weekends to help with the maintenance of the fabric of the house and gardens. Most of these events are arranged during a weekend or bank holiday.
Many course are given in the shrine room. Those courses attracting large numbers of students are given in a marquee sited in the gardens. Students reside in the house or in one of the several ‘bed and breakfast’ homes in the countryside in, and around, Ashdon.
The events below are planned for the coming weeks. The Marpa House Newsletter has more details. Please refer to ‘hot news’ for the very latest information and confirmation of the courses/teachings.
